19 of the Russian's 21 titles have been earned on hard surfaces
A resurgent Medvedev won his maiden title for 882 days with success over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a challenging season, achieving just a single victory at the Grand Slams and undergoing a setback at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's varied form on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serving in particular - caused him exiting of the top ten and ultimately separating with long-time trainer his previous coach.
Presently collaborating with his coach and Goetzke, he has consistently improved in the last few weeks - peaking in a hard-fought three-set win over challenger Moutet.
It is his initial trophy since the Italian tournament and maiden on a hardcourt since March of 2023.
Victory also indicates Medvedev has achieved twenty-one championships at 21 distinct competitions.
"It's the first time I have attended a competition with my two daughters at once, so to get a trophy is especially meaningful," commented world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in honour of my younger daughter her name, because the maiden victory I achieved when my first daughter her name was born was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his past six title deciders, featuring in the German tournament earlier this year.
His counter-punching play style and regular outbursts on the tennis court had led some to question if his capacity to compete at the elite level was concluded.
However the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, attempting to advance forward and perform assertively, backed up by an enhanced serving game.
Medvedev came back from a deficit in the initial set against the challenging Moutet, securing 4 of the last five points to take the lead.
Both players swapped breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, attempting for his maiden ATP Tour title, took control to create a final set.
The opponent saved four initial opportunities in a close third set before Medvedev secured a break to 15 to serve for the match.
Suitably, he earned the win with a rally at the net area, with the Frenchman failing to manage a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
