Authorities reported that 450 drones and several dozen missiles targeted energy facilities, describing such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

The energy minister said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were striving to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles damaged energy infrastructure and civilian homes in the capital.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the attacks on the capital have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by municipal representatives.
